My Best Tips for Perfect Pancakes

Use a well-greased skillet or non-stick pan to keep them from sticking.

Let the batter rest for a few minutes before cooking—this gives you the lightest, flufiest texture.

Keep the heat at medium so your pancakes cook through evenly without burning.

Wait to flip until the edges start looking golden brown so they don’t tear.

Have fun with your toppings! Maple syrup, fresh fruit, or a dollop of yogurt are all amazing choices.

Play around with the thickness of the batter to find your absolute favorite pancake style.

Keep finished pancakes warm in a low oven while cooking the rest so you can serve them all together.

Use a ladle or measuring cup to pour the batter for perfectly uniform pancakes every time.

Be careful not to overmix your batter—mixing just until combined keeps them nice and light!

Add a pinch of cinnamon to the batter for an extra kick of flavor!

Can You Make These Pancakes Ahead of Time?

Yes! You can easily freeze these pancakes and reheat them in the oven or microwave whenever you need a quick weekday breakfast.

Delicious Variations

Fold fresh fruit like sliced bananas or berries right into the batter.

Have fun with toppings like chocolate sauce or a drizzle of warm caramel.

Swap out part of the flour for rolled oats for a wholesome, healthy twist.

Top your pancakes with chopped nuts or chocolate chips for a delicious crunch.

Add cinnamon or cozy warm spices to give the batter an extra layer of flavor.

How to Make Pancakes

Instructions:

Add all the batter ingredients into the mixing bowl and mix for 1 minute, gradually increasing from speed 3 to 5, until you get a completely smooth, lump-free batter.

Then, let the batter rest in the fridge for about 15 to 30 minutes.

Heat a skillet and brush it with a little oil.

Ladle some batter into the hot skillet and give it a quick swirl so the bottom of the pan is completely covered in a thin, even layer.

Cook the pancake over medium-high heat (I set my stovetop to 7 out of 9).

Once the edges start turning golden brown, use a spatula to gently lift and flip the pancake.

Cook the other side until lightly browned. This side goes much faster!

Repeat with the remaining batter, brushing the skillet with a bit more oil between pancakes as needed.

Serve your pancakes as-is or loaded up with all your favorite toppings.

Enjoy!
