My Best Recipe Tips

By the way, these waffles are actually super tasty cold, too!

Serving suggestion: Dust them with a little powdered sugar or slather them with Nutella.

Another huge crowd-pleaser? Top them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and warm cherry sauce.

And bonus: you can whip up that cherry sauce in a flash right in your Thermomix®!

Here’s all you need:

  • 1 jar sour cherries (tart cherries)
  • 15 g cornstarch
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar

Instructions:

Drain the cherries, making sure to catch and reserve the cherry juice.

Add 300 ml of the cherry juice, the cornstarch, and the vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and cook for 6 min / 100°C / Speed 3.

Next, add the drained cherries and cook for another 2 min / 80°C / Reverse / Gentle Stirring Speed.

Can You Save Leftover Waffles?

If you’re making a big batch, you can keep the finished waffles warm in the oven at 175°F while you cook the rest.

Store any leftover waffles in an airtight container so they stay nice and soft instead of drying out and getting hard.

Waffles freeze amazingly well, too! It’s the perfect way to keep a stash of homemade waffles on hand for quick mornings.

When you’re ready to enjoy them, you can easily thaw and reheat frozen waffles right in the microwave.

How Long Do Waffles Last?

Fresh waffles will stay good in an airtight container for 1 to 2 days.

How to Make These Crispy Waffles

Prep Work:

Prep instructions go here

Instructions:

First, preheat your waffle maker.

Add the room temperature butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 1 min / speed 5.

Now add the flour and pinch of salt, then mix for 20 sec / speed 4.

Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl, then repeat this step.

Finally, set for another 30 sec / speed 4, pouring the sparkling water through the hole in the lid while it mixes.

Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl and cook in batches in your preheated waffle iron.

Pro Tip: Place the waffles side-by-side on a wire cooling rack so they stay nice and crispy. If you stack them on top of each other while hot, the steam will make them soft and soggy!

Enjoy!
