My Top Recipe Tips

Let the homemade chocolate sauce cool down completely after simmering. As it cools, it thickens up nicely, making it much easier to layer in your glasses without running all over the place.

Make sure to whip the heavy cream to nice stiff peaks using a hand mixer and chill it in the fridge before gently folding it into the banana-yogurt mixture. This keeps the filling super light and airy!

Coarsely crush the Choco Crossies® with your hands instead of grinding them fine. That way, you get a delicious, crunchy contrast to the velvety cream in every single bite.

Be sure to give your mixing bowl a thorough rinse after making the chocolate sauce so your bright banana cream stays clean without any muddy brown streaks.

Can I make this dessert ahead of time?

It’s best not to assemble these layered desserts too far in advance. If they sit too long, the Choco Crossies® will lose their signature crunch and the fresh banana slices will start to brown.

If you’re looking to save time, you can easily make the chocolate sauce and cream filling ahead of time and keep them stored separately in the fridge. Then, just assemble everything in your glasses right before serving!

Any leftover chocolate sauce keeps wonderfully in a clean jar in the fridge—and by the way, it’s also absolutely amazing drizzled over a scoop of ice cream.

Delicious Variations

The Layers: Feel free to customize the layering order in your glasses to match your personal taste!

The Topping: Right before serving, don’t forget to add one last generous drizzle of chocolate sauce over the top layer!

How to Make Banana Split Desserts in a Glass

Instructions:

To make the chocolate sauce, start by adding the water to the mixing bowl.

Add the sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, then cook 5 min / 100 °C / Speed 2.

Next, add the unsweetened cocoa powder and mix for 5 sec / Speed 4.

Let the sauce simmer for another 5 min / 100 °C / Speed 2.

Pour the chocolate sauce into a clean jar or container, set it aside to cool (it will thicken as it cools), and give your mixing bowl a thorough rinse.

For the cream filling, whip the heavy cream with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form, then pop it in the fridge.

Roughly chop 2 of the bananas.

Add the banana pieces, yogurt, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and blend for 20 sec / Speed 3.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the banana mixture until smooth and fluffy.

Roughly crush the Choco Crossies® and slice the remaining 2 bananas.

Layer the chocolate sauce, banana slices, cream, and Choco Crossies® into 8 dessert glasses.

To finish, top it off with a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce and serve!

Enjoy!

Now, have fun whipping this up!
