My Top Tips for Making Meatballs in Bell Pepper Sauce
If you like a little heat, feel free to kick things up a notch by adding a pinch of hot paprika or chili powder to both the meatballs and the sauce.
For super tender meatballs, try adding a white bread roll soaked in milk (just squeeze out the excess milk before mixing it in!). Bonus: this stretches the meat mixture so you get even more meatballs out of the batch! 🙂
Feel free to use whatever ground meat you prefer! Ground beef or a blend of ground beef and pork are classic choices.
Ground chicken or turkey also make a delicious, lighter alternative.
What to Serve with Meatballs in Bell Pepper Sauce
Short pasta shapes (like penne or rotini) pair wonderfully with this sauce. Rice or creamy mashed potatoes are also fantastic options to soak up all that goodness!

Can You Make These Meatballs Ahead of Time and Store Them?
Yes, you can easily make this dish a day ahead of time! Just store it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
Leftovers will also keep nicely in the fridge for 1 to 2 days. Once the meal cools down, transfer it to airtight containers and pop it right into the fridge.
This dish also freezes super well and will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
