My Best Tips for Making Ground Beef Stuffed Peppers

Pick firm, sturdy bell peppers so they hold their shape nicely during cooking.

Customize the meat filling with extra veggies like finely chopped carrots or sweet corn to fit your taste.

Give your rice a thorough rinse before cooking to remove excess starch and keep it from getting gummy.

Use plenty of fresh herbs to lift the flavors and give the dish that bright, cozy taste.

Keep an eye on the cooking time to get that perfect tender-yet-firm pepper texture.

Use good-quality ground meat for the absolute best flavor.

Feel free to experiment with different spices and herbs to tailor the flavor right to your liking.

Serve your stuffed peppers topped with freshly grated cheese for an extra boost of deliciousness!

Can You Make This Ahead and Store Leftovers?

Stored in an airtight container, these stuffed peppers will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 2 to 3 days.

Need to keep them longer? You can easily freeze them! Just make sure they’re tightly wrapped or stored in an airtight container to lock in all that goodness.

Fun Recipe Variations

Swap out the ground meat for seasoned crumbled tofu for a delicious vegetarian option.

Play around with different cheeses in the filling or melted on top for an extra rich, comforting touch.

Toss in some chopped nuts or dried fruit to add a fun pop of texture and subtle sweetness to the filling.

Sub the rice for quinoa or couscous for a healthy, nutrient-packed twist.

What to Serve with Stuffed Peppers

Great side dishes for this meal include a crisp green salad, some warm crusty bread, or even a big scoop of creamy mashed potatoes.

How to Make Stuffed Peppers with Ground Beef

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Peel the garlic. Peel the onion and cut it into quarters.

Add both to the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec / speed 5.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spatula and repeat.

Add the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, and seasonings to the mixing bowl and combine for 1 min / Dough mode.

Wash the bell peppers and pat them dry.

Slice off the tops and carefully core and seed the peppers.

Stuff the bell peppers with the meat mixture, place the tops back on, and set them inside the Varoma® dish.

Next, place the rice into the simmering basket and rinse it thoroughly under running water.

Pour 1200 ml of water into the mixing bowl and insert the simmering basket. Add 2 tsp of vegetable broth base to the rice and give it a quick stir.

Set the Varoma® in place and cook for 30 min / Varoma® / Speed 1.

Once the time is up, carefully remove the Varoma® and the simmering basket, and set both aside to keep warm.

Empty the mixing bowl.

For the tomato sauce, add the butter and flour to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min / 100°C / Speed 2.

Add the tomato paste, seasonings, and tomato purée, then cook for 5 min / 100°C / Speed 3.

When the timer goes off, blend for another 15 sec / Speed 8 until smooth.

Serve the stuffed peppers hot alongside the rice and rich tomato sauce.
