This Asian-style chicken with crisp veggies and rice comes together so quickly thanks to the Thermomix®, making for an insanely delicious, flavor-packed meal!
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Add the soy sauce, honey, oil, and a pinch of black pepper, stirring to coat. Finally, stir in the cornstarch. (This locks in all the juicy goodness so the meat stays super tender in the skillet!) Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Peel the onion, garlic, and ginger. Quarter the onion and add everything to the mixing bowl. Chop for 5 sec / speed 5. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spatula. Add the oil and sauté for 3 min / 120 °C / speed 1.
2-3 Carrots
Meanwhile, peel the carrots and slice them into thin matchsticks.
2-3 Carrots, 400 ml Chicken stock, 30 g Soy sauce, 1 tbsp Honey, 1 tbsp White wine vinegar, 0.5 tsp Sambal Oelek
Add the carrot matchsticks, chicken stock, soy sauce, white wine vinegar, honey, and Sambal Oelek to the mixing bowl.
1 Kopf Broccoli
Insert the simmering basket and fill it with the fresh broccoli florets.
250 g Basmati rice
Secure the lid and cook for 15 min / Varoma® / reverse mode / speed 1. Meanwhile, sear the chicken in a skillet and cook the rice in a separate pot according to package instructions.
500 g Chicken breast
While the Thermomix® is running, get a skillet sizzling hot. Add the marinated chicken (no extra cooking oil needed, since it's already in the marinade) and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and cooked through. Turn off the heat and let the chicken rest in the skillet.
1 Kopf Broccoli, 10-15 g Cornstarch
Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the simmering basket with the broccoli. Mix the cornstarch with a splash of cold water and pour it into the sauce in the mixing bowl. Cook for 2 min / 100 °C / reverse mode / speed 1 to bring to a boil and thicken the sauce.
1 Kopf Broccoli, 250 g Basmati rice, Toasted sesame seeds
Pour that rich, glossy sauce straight out of the mixing bowl over the chicken in the skillet and toss briefly to combine. Gently fold in the broccoli. Sprinkle everything with toasted sesame seeds and serve alongside your freshly cooked rice!
